    I have to say that I would have chosen to spare the one I loved. Pehaps it's just because I'm an extremely loyal person, but I cannot imagine someone sacrificing the one they love for the sake of an ideal. And he's a coward for not facing her death himself

    There is a difference between sacrificing someone you love for the sake of an ideal and simply casting them aside because they got in the way of it (and thus betraying the ideal itself).

    But I agree on the coward part, if you're going to kill someone then you man up and face them.

  • Nah. He probably did love her… and then he learnt not to, so now he doesn’t. It isn’t particularly complicated.
    O’course there are ways he could handle this without being a total dick about it… BUT that is just an unnecessary detail.
    He seems like a practical sort of guy overall. I approve.

    The claims of cowardice? … Irrelevant. He probably has more important things to do than dally around and watch his ex die.
