Come on people, keep up! Apparently at some point prior to the head bands that control the psychic army some of them escaped GEF capture, Zap must have been charged with recapturing them or at least finding them. But that's still iffy. (This is Zap's ship, he is psychic, ship must find his brethren, other strong psychics perhaps. Maybe there's a whole planet full of them, like DBZ's Saiyan stuff.) It is obvious. Zap is The Maker and brethren are the fleet of genious ships, which gunner wants to have.

Well, she says "his brethren", so I assume those would be other psychics. Remember that when Excelsior needed a captain it sought out a psychic. I wonder if Excelsior found Efrem too? And both Efrem and Zap ended up with Gunner...

Yay for snazzy new site! I like the splash page artwork too; It's pretty and romantic. :D Assuming the "maker" programmed the Daedelus AI, I'm wondering what suddenly changed his mind about the "primary objective"...? Why not re-code her objectives instead of hiding the ship? The plot thickens!

I hadn't thought of potential reverse engineering. That makes sense. Garfalk's explanation too, though it depends on how you define "objectives". If it's like "job", then many people can change jobs without their identities being destroyed. No, there's no real way to reassign the comments to the new pages. I had posted several messages about it on the old site encouraging people to come and comment here since the comments would be evaporating, but people ignored me and just kept on going. So now I feel doubly worse about it. :/

P.S. If I can't stop you feeling guilty, maybe you could assuage your guilty feelings with a new vote incentive? Just a thought ...

Whoa, you gave me an epiphany!

Efrem's psychic power is blue, and Excelsior's hologram form is blue. If we use this as a basis for the other ships, Zap's ship would have a green computer lady, Gunner's ship would have a yellow computer lady, and Daedalus's maker has pink psychic power.

The first link doesn't show that it's Efrem's ship, just that he was probably the last one in that room before Kasey. (A point no one has run with for some reason)

Wait, it just hit me (I blame it on the drugs ;) ) ... Efrem was the last one in that room, and presumably did something to disable Excelsior's holographic interface. Now we see that Zap apparently did something similar to Daedelus ... perhaps these are hints at some super-secret psychic conspiracy against our Sinister Serpent? Only time will tell ...

If Daedelus is Zaps' ship, was Excelsior Gunners' ship?

In my opinion Daedelus and Ecelsior were ships made by Zap, who was preparing to the war.Then something has happened, so Zap betrayed Gunner, hid the ships and after that something cause the amnesia.

Regarding the cause of the amnesia: #391 (2008-09-29).

There's no real basis for either of those assumptions, as far as I can remember ...

Gunner does refer to Daedelus (not by name, of course) as Zap's ship. (I did say "as far as I can remember" ... :Þ )

Still, Gunner has never shown any interest in Excelsior, other than to get aboard in order to get access to Zap, so it seems unlikely that he was ever associated with Excelsior in any meaningful way in the past ...

Well yeah, this is the starship they're looking for, but what about the Pirates? Naveed pulled a sword on Pirates - I wanna know what happens to the Pirates! Who cares about some Lost Ones, it's all about the Pirates!

That said, why does "Are you a starship?" remind me of little Anakin talking to Padme in Episode 1. "Are you an angel?"

Last panel sounds a lot like Darth Vader and the Jedi to me :/

Did we already hear about the "maker" and the takeover? Because it seems that robot knows about it. Maybe I just forgot it?

Aach! It just keeps getting more and more complicated! Maker, Objective, Brethern, Lost Ones. It just keeps setting its hooks deeper and deeper, demanding, nay, ensuring that we return week after week. I wish that I could have the gift that the writer/artists have.

This is the first really meaty story building comic we've had in awhile. Setting lots of things up!

Ah, this is how GPS devices of the future could be like....when you're lost, they come looking for you. But, they might still keep constantly recalculating the route or telling you to make a U-turn when you're stuck in traffic under a bridge on the highway (it can't communicate with the satellite and assumes you're lost, I guess).

I can see how her presence might thwart Gunner's and Zap's plans. She stops her hair from carefully covering herself and almost anyone could stop them while they're staring at her. Zap's "No Dudes" policy holds strong even with his holograms.

Anyone else think Robot's going to forget he's plugging in and get yanked back when he starts to run after her?
