514 | Water v. Water

Greetings from SNOWKLAHOMA. The Tulsa area got hit pretty hard by that massive winter storm system that went through last week. I spent several days shoveling snow and wasn’t really able to get out of my house until Friday. And there’s more snow coming in again this week! The worst! But, I do have all the ingredients to make hot and sour egg drop soup this week, so… silver lining.

Something else that should be coming in this week are the volume one books! Barring more snow-delays (there was so much snow that the mail didn’t come until Saturday!) I will be shipping out the regular versions and drawing in the artist editions late this week, into next week, and so on and so forth until they are all sent out. So, if you’ve been waiting to order yours, now is the time!

  • I love Naveed's look and expression in panel 5. =^_^= Rather than $5 to see if Zap shows up, I'd pay $5 for a bigger image of panel 5.

    If it's anything at all like any large boat/ship on water, then the deck(s) that are open to the air all have built in holes to let the water drain back out to the ocean.

  • Also, don't forget that this ship is actually a spaceship. Even if it gets swamped, it may be able to use “gravitic drives” or somesuch to hover.

    I completely missed that. I thought she grabbed the other guy for some reason, perhaps to use as a water propelled missile, and that THAT was the point of the panel. But I guess that other guy is just being held by someone else.

  • Io has been holding Scherzer, Callisto was holding Inman. She let go of him to blast a big water jet to protect Naveed from the Aquarians water missiles.

    Not exactly, but she does get a different kind of scene. It starts with a “d”… and ends with “that’s probably enough of a spoiler already” =)

    I’m reading this almost 3 years after your post, and I’m snowed in in Tennessee. I has no egg drop soup, though :( My silver lining is 3 more years of Zap to catch up on :D
