587 | To Lose a Captain

Poor Reona! She still isn’t comfortable talking about what happened with Efrem. And Poor Taddoran and Kiryu lost their captain on their last mission. They haven’t been back out on a starship since.

NEWSY THINGS! — If you tried to order an Artist Edition book last week but they said out of stock or you didn’t have the option to personalize your order with your sketch request, I have fixed both issues and things should be working smoothly now! (I HOPE!)

And, I arted quite a bit on my Tumblr this week, actually. If you like my doodles feel free to check it out. There is Thor/Avengers fanart and some Zap stuff too.

    Ohhh, little diff then lost. Let the story trading begin!

  • Man, Taddoran is such a cutie!

  •  I <3 him too.

  • Poor Captain Soondead. He was such a nice fellow…

    Simplest explanation: Uhhh… yeah. Efrem got hit by a meteor. Lost his memory and about 40 IQ points. Had a little reconstructive surgery. OK–a lot of reconstructive surgery. Changed his name to “Zap”, and now he’s being held hostage. Any questions? No? Rescue time!

    It occurred to me that it would be best if Reona just owned up to Efrem’s betrayal to all her fellow rebels.  If someone in the rebellion didn’t know, it’d be easy for Efrem to use their trust as a back door into the rebel base to lead an invasion.  Actually now I’m wondering if Efrem knows where this rebel base is, which logically him being a former captain, he would.  Uhoh…they might need more than tarps to keep themselves hidden from the GEF and Gunner.

    Though Efren isn’t really working for GEF, however Gunner is so much worse.

    O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
    The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
    The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
    While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
    But O heart! heart! heart!
    O the bleeding drops of red,
    Where on the deck my Captain lies,
    Fallen cold and dead.

    …just seemed appropriate for that last panel.
