That. That is the best “drat!” sort of curse word I’ve seen in a long time. And it matches Naveed’s character so well (beyond the whole she’s a cat thing too, it’s hard to explain but it works so well).

I’m glad to see William isn’t exactly helpless through all this. And woah, that dynamic duo of glowy Zap and Reona floating up is just …damn. That’s good.

Puh-lease. Gunner is a classic antisocial personality and/or narcissist. Others are either obstacles, stepping stones, or tools. He would as readily discard Naveed for advantage as I would my Pelikan M200 fountain pen. She may be expensive and difficult to replace, but she’s only a tool to him.
