524 | Lost at Sea

Sorry, everyone.  At least I gave you a freebie last week, that is if you’re perceptive and also read the news items. I SOOOOOOO sneaky. >:)

Anyway, over the last couple of weeks I’ve had a number of Zaplings tell me they would really prefer if Zap! updated more than once a week. Me too. I would like that very much, but it is not something that can just magically happen. Each page takes around ten hours (or more) to make, and I have a day job on top of managing the comic! So, if you really love the comic and you want to see more of it, put your money where your mouth is and tell your friends so that we can grow the comic and readership and get me doing this thing as a day job.

And PLEASE don’t post a million excuse comments about why you can’t support the comic financially or whatever, whatever. It’s fine! I am not mad at you or anyone. Nobody needs to apologize, I’m not offended and this isn’t an artists tirade.  Really, I’m just trying to explain the situation.

I don’t want anyone to feel like they owe me anything. Zap! will always be free online. I just feel like once-in-awhile when the schedule is brought up repeatedly I need to address the actual reason why you don’t get three fresh and shiny pages each week. It’s not because I’m a lazy jerk, it’s because I’m a working jerk.

    That, and it’s generally not smart to strike with such an heave object, at such an velocity, at something that is floating. It tends to make an gap.

    I don’t now about your website. but if you have a tool with the ability to post automatic by date. You could maybe more easy pre work on it.

  • You mean something that allows you to schedule the updates? We have that. We use a wordpress backend. I certainly wasn’t awake at 7am when the comic posted.

    Hmmm. An unconfirmed death where the body is missing, in an element strongly associated with the deceased, and surrounded by ancient beings possessing mysterious psychic powers. Yup, there’s no way we’ll ever see her again….

    I am disheartened to see Callisto go. But if it’s her time, I’ll make peace with it (Calle and Chris have the say what happens to the characters, afterall). At the very least she’s getting a “burial” that suits her. An oceangrave, maybe?
