I haven’t ever commented before, but I sorta feel I have to now. I’ve been reading this comic for ages now, and it’s been one of my favorites (my laptop has had Zap as the desktop background pretty much since I got that laptop, as did the desktop it replaced). I’m sad to see it end, but it was just as happy and bittersweet as I wanted. I’ve been scared for years, since I saw the green sparklies overlaying Zap, and it’s finally okay.
So, what I’m trying to say with all this, is thanks Pascalle and Chris, for a great comic that made me laugh out loud sometimes and get misty-eyed at others.
Now, time to go wander over to Wilde Life…

Chris, Pascalle, I’ve been following this comic pretty religiously for
about a decade (my browser history still remembers the old html address)
and now that it’s over… I feel sad, happy, exhilarated, and lost.

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe we’ve come to the end of the story! I’ve been reading for so many years, and following your guys’ tweets, it feels so surreal to think there aren’t going to be anymore updates.
Thank you both SO much for all the time you spent and for putting your hearts into this for us! I can still remember the night I first found Zap! and I fell in love instantly. I spent the rest of the night catching up, in my tiny little apartment when I first moved out on my own (oh man, I feel so old now!).
Being a part of this ride with you guys has really been such a wonderful experience; with both of you being so open and welcoming to all of us Zaplings. Thank you!
I can’t remember how long I’ve been reading Zap!, but I do remember it was right before the epic fight scene in the amusement park (so I could probably go look it up, but that’s besides the point). Anyway, Zap! has always been one of my Top 5 Webcomics that I’ve just gotta read (along with, in no particular order, Mystic Revolution, Girl Genius, Sam and Fuzzy, and the somewhat-recently completed Dominic Deegan), and it saddens me that it’s finally coming to an end, but what an end it was!
Congratulations on a story well told, and thank you for sharing it with us.
P.S. I just remembered that it was probably around 2007 that I started reading, since that was the year I went to SDCC, and I got a sketch of Reona from you (and one of Robot from Chris), and HOLY CRAP I’VE BEEN READING THIS FOR SEVEN YEARS?!?! WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?
P.P.S. I will never be able to listen to another A Flock of Seagulls song with out thinking of Zap!, because Space Age Love Song will always, now, and forever be Zap and Reona’s theme song.
I cannot believe it is officially finished!! Been a big fan for a long time and wanted to thank you both for not only sharing this comic with everyone, but creating such an amazing and fun story. I had such an array of feelings throughout-happiness, anger, sadness, to excitement (such as yelling Hell Yeah! when badassery was happening ;) ). The characters were very well developed and loved by so many fans. I am going to miss this comic a lot and consider it one of the best comics that I have personally ever read. I cannot wait to read future works from the both of you! Lastly, thank you again for all the memories and hope to say thank you in person someday.

I’ve been on this ride since Highschool. I think. So long I can’t rightly recall. Back around the time zap first got taken by gunner? More than once I thought this comic was in the dreaded infinite Hiatus. I am glad, and of course a little sad to see the end. I will miss it, but I thank you most sincerely for story.

Had to create an account to thank you for everything! I’ve been following the comic since I don’t know when. I’m looking forward to follow the new one.
I found this comic back in college, around the casino arc, probably from an ad or at the recommendation of another webcomic artist, which is how I find most of my new webcomics. It was one of the first webcomics that I began to follow, and while many fell to the side, forgotten after lengthy hiatuses, or ignored when the plot dragged painfully slow, Zap! continued to be near the top of my Bookmarks. When I type “Z” in the web browser, Zap! is the first recommendation. You never once bored us with meandering and pointless subplots. I eagerly awaited the new page. I remember that I even checked on Zap! for an update while I was on my honeymoon. I needed my fix! ^_^
It felt like torture sometimes, wanting an update but having to wait until Monday. I’ve reread the whole thing probably five times, just to make sure I remembered all the details from years back. If there was a single complaint, it’s that I wanted more. More More MORE MOOORREEE!!!
This massive update fulfilled that greedy side to me. XD Although the masochistic part of me wishes it had been dragged out, with us howling in protest at the “death” of Zap. AND ROBOT!!!! DAMMIT WHYYY???

I’ve been enjoying Zap and crew since the word go. I didn’t realized it was near the end and I’m kind of sad. It’s like saying goodbye to good friends. But at least all the friends are there to wave farewell.

One of the reasons why I read and enjoy stories such as these is because they give me hope. They remind me that despite the setbacks, despite the struggles, despite the love lost, in the end it can turn out alright.
Hey, you still got in before the ending, so you are cooler than the people who havent started yet. Now, you can tell others about the comic and be all like “Yeah, I was a fan while it was still active” and they will admire you for it. :)
